World’s First Hello Kitty Themed Farm Opens in Hong Kong

2014 is a very important year for Hello Kitty because it’s her 40th birthday. In Hong Kong, there were all kinds of celebrations, Hello Kitty Windsor House 40th Anniversary Exhibition, Hong Kong McDonald’s Hello Kitty K-League Limited Set, as well as the newly opened Hello Kitty Themed Café – Secret Garden.

This week, the world’s first Hello Kitty themed farm “Hello Kitty Go Green Organic Farm” opened in Yuen Long Hong Kong. It’s the very first time that Hello Kitty combined with the Go Green concept.

The farm has been in business for several years before turned into Hello Kitty themed farm. Their mission is to provide green life and farm experience to busy citizens through farm rental services in order to help them balance their stressful lifestyle.

The Sign of Hello Kitty Go Green Organic Farm

Following the sign of Hello Kitty Go Green Farm, it takes about 5 minute walk from the Kam Sheung Road West Rail Station to the farm.

By collaborating with Sanrio and adding Hello Kitty themed elements into the farm, the farm hopes to promote the low-carbon, organic and environmental friendly concepts, so that more people can understand the importance and significance of “GO GREEN”. Meanwhile, the Hello Kitty Go Green Farm has launched the “Hello Kitty Little Farmer Program”, giving a chance to the children to get in touch with nature and feel the green living.

It’s not easy to have a farm in a city like Hong Kong with super high population density.

The very first activity is to feed the goats (Ok, nothing to do with Hello Kitty !). When I was there, there were four goats. A group of kids were excited about touching and feeding the real animals.

I was so happy that the farm prepared a cool area and electronic fans for guests to rest and cool down in such hot summer (I was almost melt yesterday in the unusual hot weather). The lovely scarecrow is exclusively designed for this Hello Kitty themed farm. Unfortunately it’s not for sale and only displayed in the farm. If you need a photo with her, you have to visit the farm in person.

Here’s the farmland for the “Hello Kitty Little Farmer Program”. Every enrolled kid will have his/her own organic field and learn how to plant, irrigate, harvest in the program. After finishing the courses, each of them will get some free gifts as well as the Certificate of the Hello Kitty Little Farmer Program.

Every guest will get a free stamp sheet. The owner of the farm said that they will change the stamps from time to time. For example, it’s June stamp this month (right on the first row) and probably next month will be July on the stamp.
