Travel Back to 1960s : Part 1 – Hello Kitty x Hong Kong Attractions in Langham Place

Hong Kong turns to be a paradise for all the Hello Kitty fans this summer. While the heat of “Hello Kitty Circus of Life” from McDonald’s is still burning, Langham Place just launched another great event related with Hello Kitty and Hong Kong. It is called “Hello Kitty Back to 1960s” and is a very unique exhibition themed with all the good old memories about the old Hong Kong.

In case you don’t know, Langham Place is a 12-floor shopping mall located in Mongkok, one of the busiest areas of Hong Kong. It is actually not the first time that Langham Place offers crossover exhibition about Hello Kitty. In 2010, it has launched Hello Kitty x London exhibition during the Xmas.

Hong Kong “Hello Kitty Back to 1960s” exhibition was launched in the 26th of July and will last till the 15th of September in Langham Place Hong Kong. When I knew the news, I immediately decided to put down everything in hands and be there ASAP. I love it so much I will definitely be back many more times.

Since it’s a unique crossover exhibition about Hong Kong, you may feel more resonances if you know a little bit about Hong Kong or you have visited here. Even if you haven’t, just enjoy it as a special Hello Kitty show. I believe you will still find great fun.

The Kitty Ferry and Ferry Pier

The Kitty Ferry is designed based on the famous Star Ferry, which is still working between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Area nowadays. National Geographic named the Ferry crossing as one of the 50 places of a lifetime to visit. The clock tower is still standing in Central Star Ferry pier today.

It is so so kawaii that Dear Daniel dressed up exactly as the Star Ferry staff. Everytime when the ferry docks to the pier, he will be there to catch the rope and tie it to the pier. So cute !

Hello Kitty x Hong Kong Kowloon Train Station and Clock Tower

The famous Clock Tower and Kowloon Train Station are opposite the Kitty Ferry. The Clock Tower is a must-visit for tourists and stands next to the TST Victoria Harbour today, close to the Peninsula Hotel. The old Kowloon train station doesn’t exist anymore and it was served as the Kowloon Station of the Kowloon Canton Railway terminus.
