Hello Kitty Sweets (Taipei) – Part 1 : What a lovely themed café!

I’m always looking forward traveling to Taipei (Taiwan). One reason is because of the lovely Hello Kitty Sweets Café which is always on the top of my schedule. Of course, I felt a little bit guilty for other great attractions in Taipei such as Taipei 101, but I just couldn’t be more excited about anything else when Kitty was around.( ^___^ )

After a long-waiting almost sleepless night, finally the sky was getting bright and I was preparing to visit the place that combines two of my favorite things: Hello Kitty and food (and especially cakes). Unfortunately, I had to be a little bit more patient becuz they don’t open so early and it’s a bit strange to take dessert as breakfast. It turned out to be a wise decision that they just open daily from 11:30am to 10:00pm.

Usually, people recommend and suggest making a reservation of Hello Kitty Sweets prior your preferred arrival time, but I didn’t and took the risk to bet on my luck (and I was lucky that there were no waiting lines or many people waiting outside). Maybe it’s becuz I arrived Hello Kitty Sweets around 4:30pm (got lost and wasted lots of time ^(oo)^ ) or it’s during the week or before the official start of dinner time around 5:00pm.

The Hello Kitty Sweets hid inside a small lane and it’s not easy to recognize. Finally a large pink ribbon got my attention and I felt the blood immediately rushing to my head. Taking a look through the transparent glass door I could already imagine the world of cuteness. n_n

Hesitated and a little bit unsure, double checked the Hello Kitty Sweets logo on the glass door that I was not going to enter any other stores or shops accidentally, I pushed the Japanese-style door handle and the door opened with a gentle “swoosh”.

The cute pink Hello Kitty waiting sofa on the left of entrance immediately jumped into my eyes. Behind the entrance (left-hand side) was small area placed with stylish purple couches and decorated with flashing white Hello Kitty wall. Although I don’t need to wait in lines, still couldn’t resist taking a seat for seconds on the Kitty-shaped sofa! >_<

Right opposite the sofa was a big dessert display counter with all the cute-designed Hello Kitty cakes inside. Before I could take a close look at the cakes, a nice waitress wearing the cute pink Hello Kitty outfit approached me and asked me if I would like to take a seat for a coffee break since the dinner was not served cuz it’s not dinner time yet. Cool, it’s why I came here anyhow… So had to say bye-bye to the cakes, and hopefully to come back and shot pictures later…

Hello Kitty Sweets actually has two floors… Following the waitress, passing by lots of booths equipped with Hello Kitty style sofas… The Hello Kitty couple tables were all set along the long wall with a comfy long sofa (so there is enough space for handbags, jackets and shopping bags n_n). Waitress said it’s only open for more people… What a pity!

Before heading up to the first floor, we passed by the round Hello Kitty Bar where mainly served drinks and coffees. Behind there was a big logo of Hello Kitty Sweets with a sweet Kitty face…

The first floor was a bit disappointing, cuz I thought there would be Hello Kitty booths. However only some normal style tables and chairs…

Kawaii Kitty Tablemat (Hello Kitty Sweets Café)

The disappointment somehow was compensated by the cute table design and smiling pink Kitty face on my table. Each table has been decorated with a very cute Hello Kitty face and a pink paper tablemat showing my favorite Hello Kitty character. Kawaii! n_n

Long Couch at the End with a Huge Kitty Background (Hello Kitty Sweets Café)

In the end of the room there was a large Hello Kitty wallpaper and a long couch…it’s been already occupied. Even if not, I guess the waitress would not allow me to sit there along… In case you travel with a big group, large family or lots of Hello Kitty friends make sure to reserve this big booth with the special designed Hello Kitty background (so cute!).

Unfortunately, the waitress’s English was not great, after the basic questions such as “dinner or teatime”, all she could do for me was to put the Kitty menu in my hand and smile. If you could not understand Chinese, I guess you have to risk your order cuz Chinese was the only language on the menu. Don’t panic ! There were still photos of food…lol..

Take a deep breath…. I was on my adventure of ordering food without knowing what they were. Luckily it turned out not bad…
